By the very beings whose life
I daily sustain.
When the rain comes, its cycle finished,
Their plates are full and their cups overflow
But they thank me not with words.
They thank me with tall buildings,
Metal erections that scrape against
My outstretched throat.
They thank me with jarring vibrations,
Causing the most deadly of waste
To fall in places unprepared for such toxins.
Their lands dry up, and plants cry out
Asking why their mother has forsaken them,
Not understanding my plight.
I have been trapped
By these beings whose lives depend on me,
Forced into a cycle of unending death.
The trees bend to my will,
Storms rock the seashores,
And men die by droves.
But my purpose is life,
And as my heart beats loudly,
My tears grow the grass tall.
Fields grow plentiful once more,
And again they forget.
They continue to attack my roots.
I cry out as I try to hold the world together.
I cry out as the heat burns my head and my feet.

I would like to dedicate this feature in general to one specific submission to this same folder:

However, this bit of news, has been a bit controversial for a few years, with sightings, a supposed saving of one or two- but this article above, IS the most recent I that I discovered- nevertheless, if it's not true, due to controversies, over the possibility of 1 or 2 or so left- well, you still see where we're at.
When I first saw two of Moonstone27's deviations, which I requested to this folder, a while ago by now, it was also her compassion AND passion about the subject that impressed me, because, it is that kind of attitude and feeling that we need more of to instigate any kind of positive change!
About 2-3 years ago by now, the folders were redone to combine the MAIN folders, into FOUR, and then create FOUR "Special Folders" - two, so that we could include more artists, and not have to decline certain other types of valid & creative nature work, and the other two- were simply for more EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES.
This highlighted gallery folder above, is of course one of them.
I did not want our group to be just about how pretty and wonderful Nature is... though it most certainly is!
And it's definitely more fun and relaxing to talk about and look at the beauty of Nature, but in truth, it is only half of the story.
And the other half of the story is truthfully more sad, and honestly a bit more dangerous, and often by the hands of our very own human species. We have weakened our very own natural balance and order of things, on our SHARED home of this planet EARTH. This can of course occur naturally,
but we, as a collective human-race "WE", have interfered and continue to interfere, head-long with the rest of our environment way too often, and way too deeply.
In the end, there is becoming less and less of what is beautiful, as it is encroached upon, and is more difficult to create. Sometimes, we don't see it, when we are in our own small environment. But this is a world-wide shared experience, where what one does, affects another. We truly live in an interwoven tapestry. One pulls at a piece of yarn, it affects the blanket covering those under it, way on the other side.
No human can really be an island unto themselves, even if sometimes they would like to be.
The first step is becoming Aware and Knowledgeable.
That is ALL, that this folder has been meant to do, since it was created and opened.

And So Winter Becomes SpringA sad smile crossed Winter's face when she saw her pet approaching, a bouquet of colorful flowers dangling from its mouth.
"Hello, Umskipti." She crouched down to the skunk's level and ran her fingers through its fur, cringing slightly whenever the flower petals touched her skin. "I knew you'd be bringing me such a gift soon. I should never doubt that you know it's my time."
Winter removed her black feathered shawl, allowing it to flutter to the ground, and pulled the thorns from her dark hair that had held it up, tight and high.
"No longer will the land be so cold and harsh. Nature is calling. It is time for its rebirth."
The skunk dropped the flowers, nudging them towards Winter. She picked them up, holding them close to her heart, as if they were dear to her, although the pain they caused her was clear on her face. "I am ready, Umskipti. I am ready, my pet."
A nod from the creature's direction and it turned, it's tail lifted high, a green mist spraying towards its ow

This is often called the "Contributor" position in other groups.
We also called it the ENTRY LEVEL position!
It is VERY OFTEN the MOST *important* position of our group!
Essentially, Two things that happen, as "SUPPORTING TEAM ADMIN." :
1. You are voting on our submissions as they come in; you do NOT need to worry about moving them to the correct folder.
2. At this level, you are reading about the Group, from an Admin. Perspective, the FAQ and everything in the BACK Area. You are learning from the other Admins. It's like On-the-Job-Training! However, there is not pressure to move up.

We're still accepting POINTS related to our TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY!Besides the "BIG ANNIVERARY FLOWER CONTEST",
we do still plan for one more fairly BIG CONTEST,
before ALL the festivities are OVER!
That would be the "ANNIVERSARY STAMP OR BADGE CONTEST, so that's one thing ESPECIALLY!
Besides, other TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY activities, There's still our 2nd BIG CONTEST of the year, as we hold TWO PER YEAR, And one more separate THEME. We sometimes use points for other special occasions or circumstances, on a smaller scales. At this point, we DO plan to renew our SUPERGROUP Status next THIS VERY DECEMBER 1st, 2016 for 2017. We are always trying to think ahead for this.
