Away Message & Other Info.

I'll be away from dA and the internet from: July 2nd - July 13th.

Two main reasons:
1. My brother & his family are coming to visit during that time. They haven't made a trip to see me in nearly 6 years,
which means my youngest niece has never made a trip to see her auntie, since she's not quite 6. It has to do with the distance [which got farther still when I moved last year] and the type of job he has, where he can't get enough time off to go that far by car on a family trip.

So this will be a very meaningful and special time for us all. We are all very excited. It will be lots of work in preparation for 5 people, and in the recovery afterward, but it really will be so worth it.


2. I plan to take a bit of the time, on the back end, to try to look into a couple of things that I hope might help me, health-wise.

I had hoped, after a few days of putting this Journal together, bit by bit, that it would be posted by Wed. June 27th,
but on this date, my Aunt Hisa passed away, suddenly. It has left my family in quite a shock, mainly because she was not previously ill, and did not have any previous known conditions that led to the "massive heart attack" which apparently took her. And personally, I do not consider being in one's 60's to be that old. My Uncle found her... he just lost his mother, [my Grandma Jean], and now his wife.

Aunt Hisa was in my life, since I was born, and she was always really kind to me. The last time we spoke in person, which was quite a bit, was when I was there for my Grandma Jean's Memorial Service, this past April.  The first thing she wanted to talk about was "Tea Photography" and how she had visited my sites. She was so complimentary, but as a loving aunt would be. It was surprising, sweet, and so touching, because it was the first I'd had the opportunity to hear of her interest and support face to face.
Then we talked of other things we'd always had in common- our love of nature, herbs, gardening, health, and healing.

I'm not sure what any family plans might be, but so far as I know they might be "smallish"...

Regardless, other than this info., I doubt I will share as much of grief here on dA, as I did when my Grandma Jean passed. Of course, I am deeply saddened, once again, but... it feels "in addition to" or "on top of" what was already still quite recent... so I am going more private with the rest of my dealings.

And yet, please, let it be known, that it is SO very important to me, that IT'S ALL THE JOY AND BEAUTY, THAT I'D LIKE NOTICED from what I'd gathered to be placed here in this Journal...
Even if much of the joy seems small- to me, it's the little things ARE the BIG things...
So please take JOY in anything that you many see, yet NOT just in this journal, but in your LIFE, for life is just too short... so notice & do what you love, that brings you joy...

This was not an easy contest for our judges to take on, considering they were judging on both quality and theme alike, and these entries really had both of these down, very well!!
I can't thank our judges enough for doing such a great and amazing job!
[I hope to be able to acknowledge our wonderful judges more specially, at a later time... ]
And believe me when I say, our Admins., worked very very hard on this Contest!!

If You Can Help
This is for my friend Anastasia
for her dear cat: Tabbie

Tabbie is in need of surgery, and faster now, as this journal was written near the beginning of June.
Tabbie Needs Help!Tabbie needs your help. Who is Tabbie? Well, he is a 22 lb. orange and white, long hair tabbie cat who is in great need of surgery. I am Anastasia, Tabbie's human, and as a starving artist type, I cannot afford the cost of his procedure. I am not one who usually asks for help, especially with money. I know first hand what the economy is like and what it has done to many hard working people out there...but this is my baby and I can't help him alone.
Tabbie has a large tumor growing at the base of his tail, it needs to be removed and tested to make sure it is not cancerous. The procedure would take place at:
Hartland Cat Hospital,  555 Glade Rd., Euless, TX 76039 ph# 817-354-7877
The run down of the costs are as follows:
Tumor Removal - $175.00
Anesthesia - $45.00
Penicillin Injection - $26.25
Butorphanol Injection - $30.00
Clavamox Drps - $36.50
Lance Cyst - $50.00
Mini Histo Idexx - $150.00
Blood Work - $68.25
Total $581.00
I need to raise $600 as quickly as I can and I would
While a very small portion of what she needs has been raised, she is still far from her goal.
I did just talk to Anastasia, just this week, and danger increases as time goes, even if the cyst is a benign tumor, because it should be removed, because as it grows the immediate concern is that it would rupture on its own and cause a bad and potentially deadly infection.
She believes Tabbie is her "baby" as many of us do with such beloved pets.

The South Coast Humane Society here, on the SW Coast of Oregon IS keeping me very busy these days... I do the photoshoots of their animals for adoptions for "Adopt-a-Pets" and "Pets-of-the-Week" for the newspapers, plus I work on the photos for the animals and upload them to their page at Petfinder.com. The same photos go their fb page. I share SOME, of these same photos with you here on dA!
