Sha-Sha's Christmas Story

Description

So, this is Sha-sha, as some of my Friend-Watchers might know by now. "Sha-sha" comes from her full name of Seizonsha</b>, which is Japanese for SURVIVOR, and that she is; it's the perfect name for her, because of what she'd been through as a tiny kitten on the streets before we even adopted her. :hmm:

She already only had one eye, by the time she reached any kind of human care. She was finally fostered, had her FIRST eye surgery, and was taken to PetSmart, where she appeared depressed all the time, and no one asked for her because of her "one-eyedness" ...

and THAT'S where WE came in!
TWO years ago, January 2nd of 2008 :w00t:

We didn't mind her having one eye... and she was so excited to come home with us, at that point, - she ran directly from her cage and all the way up into my neck, and never left purring all the way home. :aww:

So she does have this sweet side, and it does come out periodically, as she get up in your lap, or way up on your chest or under your chin... but she does have this whole other side, because of her "survivorness"

We saw it from that moment we'd taken her home. We only had Jikan, our first cat, and the two dogs- Malori and our dear Canela [may she be running around on the other side of the RAINBOW bridge... :sniff: ]

Set her down, and the low gutteral growling began. ;)

Sha-sha is a mess! [Not to mention, she also has ongoing stomach problems, has special food, which sometimes still does not work...] She's been rotten and into everything and the hardest of all of our now cats to get her to do anything!
But she's a great companion and always by our side when we're doing something.
Yet, she'll be the first one to steal our stuff, stash the toys, and otherwise fight with you. :ninja:

But you can have a conversation with her. She actually chatters with you, and if you try to mimic the chatter back she'll be more than willing to keep up the convo.
For what it's worth...

She's a fun, crazy, complex, dual-sided, wonderful, amazing, highly-sensitive, fiesty, and loving cat! sigh....

And in THIS photo, I GUARENTEE, it's NOT like the one, that I took of Herbie here:

which I thank everyone who has so far enjoyed it, and the story behind it....

However, THIS photo of Sha-sha is a whole different story, because it ALWAYS is with her. I guarentee she's not laying there in utter amazement due to first time joy.

Rather she is contemplating and scheming how and when she will climb the tree to steal the next shiny red Christmas ball. I guarantee it.
Why? Well, we've CAUGHT her red-pawed a couple times already, plus we've found the stash!!!

That little stinker! I laugh now... but I've not been laughing as much... :ohmygod:
Sometimes, she's like ten cats...

But she's our Sha-sha, and so cool in so many other ways, we just can't help but love her all the time. :aww:

She just SURVIVED her SECOND eye surgery on that non-eye space, in Sept. 09- there'd been complications since we've had her...

But, you see, she may be so different, and completely unique, even set so apart sometimes, but goodness, she really is so beautiful.

What a sweet kitty-kitty! She does kinda look like scheming.

I had a one-eyed Chow named Bear when I was very little. He was born that way, but my mom still chose him!

He was mine and my sisters' Nana dog. He kept us out of things we shouldn't, and put up with my insistent tugging and pulling of his ears and fur.

He was such a wonderful dog. I hope you have as many happy memories with Sha-Sha as I did with Bear.
