This is a portrait of our sweet Tsuki Blue, (sometimes known as Tsuki Lu or Tsu-ksees). She was only 8-10 weeks only when we got her, on Nov. 9th, five years ago. That's right she's only just over 5 years old.

At the time I was working for two foster care groups which "fed" into Pet Smart stores, and their adoption programs. At the time my job was animal hygiene where I clipped cat nails, checked for hygiene, checked for things like ear mites, fleas, worms, made notes and reported anything right away.
I also cleaned cubicles, and I also brushed cats. The other main thing I did was work at the adopted end of things.

One day, one of the foster care groups, brought in a few more cats, and Tsuki was one of them, and right away I could tell she was NOT ready to be there- NOT healthy enough to be adoptable, or even to be around other cats! I called the person back to come and pick her up... and she did... but I worried incessantly about her, thinking about how she would be taken back to the foster site, and around more cats.

I knew this lady had a very good heart, indeed, but I also did know that she had TOO MUCH on her hands, as often happens. I did not think she would be able to get Tsuki seen at a vet, or at least not in any timely fashion. I called during the week, to ask about Tsuki, and I was told she was getting better, but no she had not been to a vet.

I had a bad feeling. Two days later, I drove out to the foster site, and, as I had felt, she was NOT better at all. I told the lady I would take her directly from there, and she actually seemed relieved. She picked her up, and sprayed her all over with flea "stuff" and the fleas literally were crawling out of her all the way home!!

I took her directly to my vet, at the time, before getting home to my other cats, who told me that this cat was nearly dead and not to be upset if she didn't make it. She could hardly breathe, the upper-respiratory had gone on way too long. It was severe and chronic. She was given heavy anti-biotics etc,. and we quarantined her for a little while from the rest of our cats; in fact she slept on my pillow next to my head, so I could hear if she was breathing at night.  It was really scary for a while, but after 3 weeks, she showed great signs of improvements!

Other than having more allergies that most of my other cats, she does well now. She is a very unique cat, too, in that, she is Polydactyl, with 23 toes! She lets me clip them all. :aww:  Her lovely tail practically puffs to a perfect ball when she is startled. She is a big clown that's for sure! We've been told she has Siamese in her, even though she is perfectly white, but her eyes give it away... the shape of them and the way they cross a bit, is a lot like many Siamese cats. She also has a lot of Siamese attitude. *shrug*

She's just our crazy Tsuki Blue!
