Personal Note

I was supposed to have left already... but so much has piled up, (in so many ways), that I just haven't been able to do it, so I am quite behind. So. My last day on dA and the internet WILL be this TUESDAY night, PST, but more likely WEDNESDAY NIGHT PST, at the very latest, but I WILL be gone by then.
I plan to return by: JAN. 6th or 7th, 2014!
There will be A LOT in the way of changes I will be making for our Members and Admins., at Unframed-Nature.
But anyway, I always NEED to, and therefore take time off from ALL things at this time of year.
During that nearly 3 week period, I will at least check email, from time to time.

That being said, besides just needing to anyway, I just wanted to say... without really saying anything, (because there's really just no time or space for it, and I'm just exhausted, anyway...)
that December is supposed to be full of Delights! And... it IS! Delights are all around, for the having, the taking, the creating, the giving... but as many of us also know, with December's holidays, sometimes December, and just after, is also a very difficult time. I don't want to make this, or this whole entry which I've work on for POSITIVE to be a downer in ANY kind of way, so I don't want to say too much. Just that, I'm over here, and I really really want to feel those delights of December that I'm physically putting myself through the motions with... but sometimes a lot of stuff happens, like one thing after another, big or little, and you don't have a chance to recover before the next... I get to feeling overwhelmed and like my head is spinning,
but my overall point is, if I'm having trouble with delightfulness right here and now, in front of me, because of this and that, which is so immediately in my face, then I have to try harder... play the Christmas music louder, laugh a little harder, breathe a little slower, stop and look and listen- and find, then, just where ARE those delights, if they aren't where I had hoped or wanted them to be... or CREATE those delightful moments for myself or someone else... I'm old enough by now, to know I can't control the hand of cards my family is, or that I'm dealt... but I *can* control how to play *my* hand- even if I fold and walk, at least I'm not just sitting there wallowing.

I just had to get that out... and *that* is a good & positive thing.

Last Month's: "Attitudes Gratitude" Project!
Last month, in November's Special Edition section, which is always located near the bottom, the theme was "Attitudes of Gratitude" and a little project came with it!
My incredible friend Lily Annissina participated most enthusiastically, and this is what she came up with,
as examples of what she is THANKFUL FOR:
FAMILY, including the belief that their dog is part of the family, of course!

The beauty of NATURE, especially where she's from.

ART, like FOOD & MUSIC, for example, but many more types, too.

I haven't really told you about myself, and I think it's time to share. As suggested by my dear friend Gaby synconi, here's a little review of my time on DeviantART, including some real-life milestones and highlights.
I joined dA on 31st August, 2008. Back then I was obsessed with Disney films and loved drawing some of the hairy characters   as well as some of my favourite anime characters.
Only a couple of weeks had passed before I stumbled across the beautiful works of the lovely Satu magnusti78 who got me hooked on fractaling by January 2009. She was like a mentor to me when it came to fractals, but also became a really good friend and I still cherish her as much.
Back then I also became an Admin. at the group :iconfractaldreams: which really inspired me to make fractals and I really enjoyed it. I took part in a RoundRob
It's really amazing, and I felt proud of her for having the courage to write it.
On the other hand, Lily is a strong and lovely young lady, and I am proud to be friends with her.

For all of her grand involvement and participation in this Project,
I have surprised her with a small token of 20

Lily, I will always be grateful that I met you on dA!

Second Street       El stands under muted chrome lights, legs splayed apart and left hip cocked out like the jagged end of a lipstick smear. The soft undercurrent of voices drifts from the club crowd up to the stage, quiet murmured conversations below the chink of glasses and clicks of the mike stand slotting into place. If she listens close enough she can almost hear the bare echoes of a young man's laugh, a woman's soft tinkling sigh, the swell of a family's conversation.
       "All ready," the man before her grunts around the toothpick hanging out the corner of his sun-cracked mouth. El reaches a hand over to tug at the length of color-faded silk knotted around her left wrist, stepping forward to take the place he vacates. The same hand rises to wrap around the cold silver shaft, glossed lips parting as she ghosts them towards the microphone.
       The crowd has dropped in volume, calm falling over the haphazardly arranged three-legged stools and half-rickety tables. It's a quiet she's felt

I don't usually report anything outside of dA, except perhaps the annual local MUTT STRUTT event, (August)
but the Holidays have been  busy... as I also had three other jewelry orders and six rather large holiday greeting card orders. I'm mentioning this, because while I've obviously been extra busy in a short period of time, this is SUPER news for "The Shelter Project"!
By this end of this week, I will be delivering the total donations collected from this past year of 2013, to
South Coast Humane Society by way of "The Shelter Project".
As many of you who know this 3.5 year old Project by now, you probably already know the donations are 25% of all work completed during the year from orders made. Where did the rest of it go? As you may also recall, the rest goes back into "The Shelter Project" to keep it running. Materials that it takes to create hand-made creating cards as well as hand crafted jewelry material, are BOTH, are quite expensive. Unfortunately, I would not be able to fund any such project, if I did it any other way. It is actually how such a project came to be, when, more than four years ago, my financial situation had changed completely, dramatically, and permanently, and I became unable to directly donate monetarily to the animals that I was also volunteering with. As a result, such an idea to work for donations, came into fruition... and the rest, as they say is history...
BUT, most importantly, is the NOW, and the FUTURE:

I will be donating YOUR DONATIONS, from 2013, this week, in the TOTAL AMOUNT of $180.00 USD !!


(This does NOT include the actual DAY of The Mutt Strutt in August, from the locals, which I had to turn in THEN- $150, but,
It does include the subsequent business that I did get FROM that day... )

Anyway, If you do NOT think this is a lot, IT IS!  

WHY? ~Because in the two previous years, the amounts were $70.00 and $80.00!

However, I would like to set a goal for 2014, with the hopes to stretch the total 25% amount up to $200.00!

Oh, and so one more thing though, I did want to mention that about 62% of that $180.00 is from my purchasing Affiliates of 2013 here on dA!
