UPDATE on APRIL MONTHLY FEATURES

Artists sending in their thumbs have been steady!

However there IS STILL SPACE for about TWO to TEN [maximum] more features!!!

So, you may STIIIILL SEND them, but don't wait much longer. Meanwhile, I'll see you all in the Feature around the 9th.

ANNOUNCING: APRIL MONTHLY FEATURES
Monthly Features are NOW Back!

1. For my WATCHERS. ANY Watcher can participate! A watcher can even participate as many months as they'd like.

2. This is usually announced between the 2nd - 4th of every month and the Feature is presented about a week after [usually on/near the 9th of each month].

3. Though I personally appear to be mostly a photographer, I truly LOVE about all art, so ALL media welcome [ except I simply ask for NO nudity, or anything else deemed Mature Content, as I do have very young nieces allowed to see my site. Please know, that I personally have no problem. ] If you have a Question about any piece, just note me.

4. YOU send to ME in a NOTE, your THREE thumbcodes associated with your THREE works of art of YOUR own choice. Your picks! [This is the only instance, where I don't choose for the various features I do.]

I JUST started working as a volunteer for one of the two Pet Adoption Agency through the PET SMART in town. The one that happened to be there the day I applied, was the same one that Sha-sha was adopted from over a year ago! ^.^ Sooo, it seemed EVEN MORE "meant to be"- like a FURTHER extra way that I could give back, I guess.

To volunteer for a Pet Adoption Agency, is a goal on a list I have for 2009, and I finally made it happen. I've only done it TWO times at this point. I truly want/need to start out small, [3 hours a week, on Fridays] at this point, because of my own special needs. [I have to really start out slow, anything new I ever take on, especially in the last few years.]

But anyway, this particular issue is super important to me, and I have really wanted to be involved so much. I do hope I am able to continue with it, because there IS more I'd like to do with it. The area where I live, is one of the most, if not THEE MOST depressed areas of the state, and more pets, especially cats have been left and abandoned, [more often than not in the most cruel of ways ] than even in other places, statistically, even though it's an epidemic everywhere.

The other adoption group through Pet Smart works with dogs, too but the one I happened to get with is just cats- it is a lot more of an issue with cats. A big part of the program is educating the public on spaying and neutering, pet care, and helping to afford for their pets or give them up humanely. Dumping is never acceptable, of course. By being a volunteer with my adoption agency though, I am automatically a volunteer with shelters, too, and so do have the possibility of working with dogs, as well.

They were also happy when they found out I was a photographer! I hadn't thought about how that might fit, but they certainly had ideas, and I'm allowed to photograph when I want, anyway, so this is cool, for that reason, too.

I already have three cats, and two dogs of my own, in a very teeny living space, so the main problem here is turning off that part of my brain that wants to "save them all" - because I DO, and I can't. THAT would be TROUBLE! sigh... So, I will just love them all, instead, and help others to save them ALL.

I strongly feel that page views alone do not necessarily reflect levels of creativity and talent. I also think there's a lot of wonderful art/artists out there who just haven't been seen enough.
