Yes, exactly why it's in Tucson... and the city is very restricted on the usage of lights at night time because of the observatories as well. There are few streetlights, and it's very dark out there in this wide spread-out city in the desert.
ALL of my family is living there... except just us up here in Oregon.

aw, your photo reminds me that I have an interesting pics from observatory made on the day when was total solar eclipse in europe (don't remember the year but some 7,8 years ago I think); it was so cool but in the same time little scary because in the middle of the day was suddenly like in the evening and the strong wind start just like that...!
