I'd like to thank my brother, my sister-in-law, and my niece Miss B, herself, for the permission to upload this photograph!
It is a photo I took this past Thanksgiving 2009... and then worked on later, just after the new year in January 2010.
I worked on it in this way to render it a little bit olde fashioned, because when I was watching and listening to my niece read at this time, I was transported back in time, to TWO time periods: to the days and many years when I taught children to read, as well as to my very own childhood and my love of reading!
Go Miss B!
~~~~~~~~~
For those who wonder, I have four nieces. Two are adopted and two are biological, but it does not matter as far as love goes! 's = 's
One of the adopted is in Germany. I've only been able to see her once in person, though, however I guess I should be GLAD that I've been ABLE to see her once! It was the Summer of 2006, when I was last in Europe.
The other three are with my bro and his wife in Arizona, which is still kind of far, but a lot closer than Germany! One is adopted and other two are biological. Miss B., is biological and is the youngest of all.
I have one nephew, too. He's young and also adopted. Currently, he's abroad, too. I got to spend time with him when he was here, though.
I am blessed that I have known this many children to call me "Aunt" or "Tia"- I know it's a gift that I don't take for granted.
[NOTE: I just wanted to say, in advance, how especially grateful for anyone's I may receive for this image. I am honoured that you would enjoy or think well enough of my work here, to it. So I thank you profusely, and from the bottom of my heart . And because I do realize time constraints all too well, I understand, if you are unable to also leave a comment. However, whichever you may do, [or even both! ] I genuinely appreciate it beyond measure. I need you to know this now, in case I'm not capable of doing individual thank-you's for 's, which I've not been capable, or in case I cannot respond to each comment, either. Thanks for understanding. And even if you just came to view! I am also very HAPPY for this! ]
Hiya great photos wondering if I could use this image for a leaflet on parents and the importance of language and reading to children for my uni course? You will be credited.
Thanks
I've featured Miss B. in my latest journal. Stop by and have a look,sometime, if you'd like.
