This photo of Canela Bella was taken in around June of 2006. So she is 11 here, and in great health at this age. She remained in good health really, until about 12 and a half years, I believe.

Her tail was wagging so fast, you can't even see it!

I have more photos of Canela than I do of any other pets, which NO ONE can tell of my sub-gallery of cats and dogs here at dA. I have taken SO few quality photos of Canela digitally in her older years, that I do NOT have many of her here at all.

But luckily I have a ton of film photos of her from younghood,
when she was the healthy, hilarious, full-of-character doggie that she was. Loyal and loving to boot.

This is the youngest I have to share, here, and it's alright!

Canela's health has been pretty poor for just over a year, but we've been trying desperately to improve it with the vet's help and especially since the very beginning of Spring when it turned for the worse.

It's been a long difficult Summer, finally in the last couple weeks, none of us could stand it any longer as things took another turn...
Saturday, Sept. 5, '09 we made a most extraordinarily difficult decision... but in our utter despair and depression, we know she is not in pain and suffering anymore.

It's just we sorely miss her, and will for so long.
I've never had a loyal companion as long as 13.5 years before.
She was 14 years and 4 months old.
