Description
Some of my Watchers know about a sudden trip that needed to be arranged back in January, to Tucson, Arizona, where all family are who live the closest are, which just isn't close. 
It was because of my beloved grandmother, Grandma Jean
who will be 90 this June, a woman I would do anything I could for. 
She has been an incredible woman all of her life, somehow strong 
in the face of many challenges- a definite and TRUE inspiration. 
I have felt closer to her than about any bio-related family members, my whole life. 
The decision had been made to move her to an Assisted Care Facility, because she had taken a turn for the worse. And the other reason was because her primary care providers, [my uncle, aunt, mom and dad- all between 56-80 years old- my aunt the youngest, and my uncle the oldest] were each undergoing very challenging medical problems more than usual, that were bringing them down worse than usual, and they became no longer able to give the help and care that my Grandma needed.
Of course my Grandma tried really hard to understand, but one of her hugest concerns, is that she would have to give up her cat, in the process, and depression deeper than we'd seen previously ensued, and finally I called to say, we'd take the cat in... not that we were planning to take in another cat at this time... but... I'd do anything for my Grandma Jean, as I said.
This did serve to improve her mood, knowing Katie would be going to me... and we quickly arranged and planned a car trip to Tucson, which was the last week of January.
It was a very difficult week in many ways, the physical packing up and helping of my Grandma to move, and very emotionally and mentally challenging, too- all the way around... and on the last day, we took Katie... which was NOT easy, in most ways.
Katie "Fujin" Rose is a ten year old Manx [born with no tail]. She will be 11 in May. She has no signs of being very old, really! Healthy cat!
She actually eats regular cat food, where my other two young cats, each have separate RX food for medical conditions!! 
My Grandma and Grandpa had rescued her from a shelter the day she was going to be euthanized, over a decade ago. I added the Japanese name of "Fujin" because it means "Lady" and one of her nicknames is Lady Katie, and she does act very much like a lady, and "Fujin" has the JEAN sound of my Grandma's name- so the reason is two-fold.
Katie Rose was how they originally named her.
She rode awesomely in the car on the way home, we had to let her out a lot of the time from her soft carrier, cause let me tell you, it is one loooong drive. And you can see from the photo where she best liked to be when she was out, maybe not safe, but cute, and everything was fine.
Acclimating her once back, took sooo much time and a lot of patience, as Katie has been an "only pet" for a very very long time.
She has a very extremely sweet side, and loves to sit in my lap, but doesn't like to be picked up and has other odd idiosyncrasies, which my other two cats don't- but I know, they're all different.
It is truly amazing how far she has come in a matter of only 2 months or so. I mean,
she really has been more adaptable than we thought. She is very much so loved, like the other cats, and dogs, too.
I can't believe I'm just now getting around to introducing the new member of the family, but that's how it is, I'm quite behind in my own work, too.
