Sha-Sha's Winter Wonderland

Description

See images from this year's Holiday Greeting Cards to Help Animals in Need HERE: [link]

This is dedicated to the wonderful Group :iconourarea51: and the two administrators who run it,
:icondanaanderson: and :iconlirulin-yirth: who are also good friends of mine, who have always been very supportive of me and The Shelter Project, too. :aww:
They are compassionate enough people they will take Sha-Sha even with her one eye. :)

I appreciate both their group as well as Lin and Dana for all they have done, and wish them wonderful Holidays and a great new year, ahead! :rose:

Sha-Sha is short for Seizonsha which is Japanese for "Survivor" and THAT, she is! ;)

This is an effort to do 2 things:

This will round out a much nicer collection of Holiday Pet images to be available for Holiday Animal Greeting Cards for NEXT Year...
as I had NO idea I would get what orders I DID get, this year, and I felt unprepared with the images I had, both in the area of holiday animals and regular holiday images to be honest!
[even if it was nice, that the images I had were wanted anyway... :aww: ]

And in a GREATER effort to help support The South Coast Humane Society through The Shelter Project by having a nicer variety in general. :aww:

We got Sha-Sha about 6 months after Jikan: [link] , who to this day, is probably still her best buddy.
She was our 2nd cat, at about 3 months old, just over 4 years now. But we had mistakenly judged all cats by Jikan back then, and it was a bad mistake, for Sha-Sha was and still is complete terror in comparison to sweet and easy-to-train Jikan!

But we are thankful we got her, because given her challenging demeanor which is half very crazy and also half very sweet, [at alternating times] she had one eye when we got her, which no one knew how she got before she was picked up into the system... and tho' the rescue facility had just done surgery before we adopted her, she had trouble with it about a full year, before we had to have it re-done by our vet... and even then, it got incredibly infected from THAT surgery... but a 2nd surgery is what was needed, and finally, that part of her face is completely healthy and she is fine...

... she actually sees better with her ONE EYE, which we call her "magic eye", than the other cats seem to! We don't understand it, but NOTHING gets past her at all, AND she is in your business and with you no matter what it is you are doing at ALL times, in front of the line ahead of the other cats!

And she absolutely adores toys, tears into them! This cat is a mess in a lot of ways, and we are not sure a lot of other people would have taken her to begin with, as we had been the first people to even look at her at the time, but even so, we wonder if she would have been returned given the outrageousness of some of the antics she does put us through...
:faint:
We often say, that she is like 10 cats all on her own, but she is one BIG adventure in one tiny 6 pound feisty cat, and we love her, and can't believe she's the same cat when she's being ultra sweet!

More of Sha-Sha.

Winter Wonderland
Ann Blyth & Perry Como

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a winter wonderland.

Gone away is the bluebird,
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song,
As we go along,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a snowman,
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown

He'll say: Are you married?
We'll say: No man,
But you can do the job
When you're in town.

Later on, we'll conspire,
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid,
The plans that we've made,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a snowman,
And pretend that he's a circus clown
We'll have lots of fun with mister snowman,
Until the other kids knock him down.

When it snows, ain't it thrilling,
Though your nose gets a chilling
We'll frolic and play, the Eskimo way,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

I like the classics whenever possible, in most cases. :)

this story is like my Chloe, she is CRAZY one second, the next sweet as sugar! I have 3 cats all are rescues off the street, the worst case I dealt with is Kurt, he was and extreme case of malnourishment, abuse and dehydration. He was almost a year old and weighed a tint 2 1/2 pounds, he was sick, very sick...full of worms and urine, my husband and I brought him home where he cringed when we went near him, I bathed him and he found out what a loving touch was, it broke my heart to see him so desperate for love. I brought him to the vet the next day, the vet was doubtful of his survival, he De-wormed him, gave him his first set of shots and sent me home with some free food to help him rehydrate properly and gain some weight, he booked a tentative appointment for 4 weeks later but told me not to hold my breath. Well that 4 weeks came and he was brand new, he weighed in at 9 1/2 lbs and no longer had patches of fur missing or worms, or the stink of urine, the vet was in tears... he was neutered that day as well and we got him the next day...we still have him today..he is now 5.
