One That Was Saved

Description

This is dedicated to my good friend Lin :iconlirulin-yirth: for his BIRTHDAY
which was on May 13th! [running a bit late. :aww:]
:boogie: :w00t: :cake:

Lin has been a great and supportive friend for a very long time on dA!
He is also very supportive of The Shelter Project, too. His promotion of it, on his page, is big and beautiful!
*DanaAnderson surprised him by purchasing an order of greeting cards for them, on behalf of the project, and I'll never forget that.

This is "Shine" a photo I have saved, and finally finished for Lin.
And he was a kitten, that was saved, from our feral, "Raya". We fostered him, a bit, and then took him into The South Coast Humane Society, to be healed from illness, and then adopted out, which he was.

So, this one, was saved.

Many cats, and kittens, who are especially strays and ferals are unfortunately NOT saved.

This is because there are just way more kittens produced than there are people who can or are able and willing to take care of them.
It is why spaying and neutering is SO VERY important to avoid the unfortunate overpopulating of sick cats in the neighbourhoods and the eventual euthanizing of lots them at many animal facilities, since there are just too many for them to have space to keep or find homes for fast enough, in relation to how fast they come in. :hmm:

Our type of humane society, being not government run, will do anything to find a place for every animal, and is a "NO-KILL" shelter, but this is NOT the usual reality, and can place a higher stress on such facilities that work to keep every animal alive, and find them space, and homes. :aww:

All generous support is always appreciated.
Yet every animal facility does need various support!

Lin is a kind-hearted person, and friend, who is loyal to his friends, and he does love animals. He especially has a soft spot for cats! :)

Here is a feature of his amazing work!

Dear Lin,
Thank you so much for your kind friendship.
I hope you've had a delightful birthday...
and I really wish you the best in all of your efforts,
in the coming year!
Your Friend, Tea

[ :note: NOTE: Thank you, in advance, for any :+fav:'s I may receive for this image. :thanks: :aww: :rose: I am honoured and grateful that anyone would think well enough to :+fav: it. So thank you from the bottom of my heart  . I understand if you don't have time to comment, but thank you for any kind comments, too. :aww:
It's important to know this NOW, as I may NOT be able to do individual thank-you's for :+fav:'s, or in case I cannot respond to each comment, either. Thanks for understanding. :thanks:
And, if you just came to view, I appreciate that, too.
:w00t: ]

Reminds me of 3 newborn kittens we nursed after their mother abandoned them in the next door neighbor's yard. They found their way past our 2 (rather vicious) dogs (A viciously tough Jack Russell and a vicious Maltese crossbreed) and into our outside storage shed. We nursed them for a week, then a care unit came out and took the kittens to a special home for rescued animals. Our dogs got hold of one of two twin kittens of the three. He survived the ordeal; and was rescued by a stray animal specialist who took him to a special farm like place; home to many other stray cats and dogs that he and his team have rescued. The other two were taking in by the SPCA; and later found loving homes. Here is a picture of all three of them together. fav.me/d5op4a5
