My Sunshine by TeaPhotography My Sunshine by TeaPhotography
Dedicated to dear friends, Edie :icon1001g: and Brittany:iconbriphotography1: for their BIRTHDAYS,
on Oct. 1st and Oct. 2nd, respectively. [Yes, I'm running late!]

I appreciate Edie and Brittany for their long and continuous friendships here on dA! These are just lovely, great gals.

This is Soleil, ["Soli" for short!] at The South Coast Humane Society who is available for adoption, and whose photo will soon be placed at the humane society's and fb pages!

I will push for her to be in the newspaper, for "Adopt-a-Pet" for the next month, as this month's line-up was already full. :aww:

Soli's Story:

I got to name Soleil or "Soli" because the first time I met her, I immediately connected with her bright and valient spirit, PLUS she has that yellowish/orange "sunspot" on her throat, and Soleil = Sun, in French. :aww:

What happened was, we went for a bike ride down to the Port, where our town has one of the feral societies. We got off our bikes at the feral society, and Soli just ran out from the bushes there and started rubbing her face on our ankles and bike wheels, etc., and it was EXTREMELY obvious she was NOT a feral cat, and did not belong there, and had been dumped there... :hmm:

I fell in love with her, and we didn't know what to do in that moment, since we were on our bikes. We rode home, and got the car, and when we went back, we did not see her. :hmm:

Two days later, I was due to do my photo shoot again with the pets at the humane society, and there she was!!
Soli, in her own enclosure!!!

Turns out someone else had been by the feral society, not long after we had, and noticed her, too, and took her into the humane society!!!

I let her out of her enclosure and we had a most happy reunion!

I told them, what had happened, on my end of things, and that she already had a name, and so they agreed to officially name her Soleil/Soli.

She is the only cat there at the humane society, that I have ever picked up and cradled on their back, the way I only do to my own indoor cats!

If we didn't already have so many of our own cat babies, I would adopt her myself... I truly hope a very loving home is in her near future!

A feature of Edie's beautiful work:

A feature of Brittany's remarkable work:

Dear Birthday Friends,
You've been so nice and supportive of me, for so long on dA,
and I always remember such kindnesses. :rose:'s
I wish for you each, a wonderful year ahead.'s
Your Friend, Tea

You Are My Sunshine
~Johnny Cash's version
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray......

Just something very special about Johnny Cash's emotive version.

[ :note: NOTE: Thank you, in advance, for any :+fav:'s I may receive for this image. :thanks: :aww: :rose: I am honoured and grateful that anyone would think well enough to :+fav: it. So thank you from the bottom of my heart  . I understand if you don't have time to comment, but thank you for any kind comments, too. :aww:
It's important to know this NOW, as I may NOT be able to do individual thank-you's for :+fav:'s, or in case I cannot respond to each comment, either. Thanks for understanding. :thanks:
And, if you just came to view, I appreciate that, too.

This is an absolutely gorgeous shot! :) I love how you captured not only the piercing glare of Soleil's eyes, but also the striking deffinition of the picture and the tactfully endowed shadowing at the corners of the portrait. Keep up the supurb work...!

Actually she's a dark tortie... so maybe at first she might look black, but she has traces of orange and brown and white... and a big spot on her throat which is how she got her name Soleil {Soli] which means SUN in french. :aww:
