My Bobcat and Me by TeaPhotography My Bobcat and Me by TeaPhotography
This is the main reason I came to this wild life game park, for my birthday...
for many years by now, I have dreamed of petting and interacting with an actual WILD cat, of ANY kind... didn't matter what type, because I am fascinated by ALL wild cats. :D

So we went to this wild life game park, which is designed to be a walk-through petting zoo, in most of the parts.
This is not a zoo, though, in any traditional sense.

We were walking among peacocks, ducks, [and other birds], wallabies, a variety of types of deer, goats, llamas, alpacas, etc., :aww:

Then, they had various specific times when they would bring out certain BABY wild animals, for educational information, and for photos, and yes for petting and interacting.

We pet and interacted with Bobbie Rose, [photographed here], a six month old Bobcat, and also with Coco, a six month old Cougar, and also with Mazarati, a six month old black bear!!!

For the smaller types of baby wild animals, we interacted with a Virginia Possum, a Raccoon, a white northwestern skunk, and some ferrets...

but the ferrets were not new for me. :aww:

I hope to share a few more photos from this overall experienced over the next couple/few months.

:note: REMEMBER: As I mentioned in the previous two uploads, it was POURING rain the WHOLE day!

The good part about this is that there were hardly any other people there, so we got a LOT of interaction time...

Despite the rain we did take some photos, and a few turned out okay...

But,
in THIS photo, I am completely soaking wet from all the rain...
there was no way I could juggle an umbrella AND my camera!
:juggle:

So, it is not my best photo of ME! :giggle:
But, nevertheless, I wanted to share this photo of me with the lovely Bobbie Rose!

Yes, she was SO awesome!!! And yes, I was a bit tentative, as one should be! Her handler was VERY close by, and I had strict instructions.

I might use it as my next ID.

Part of the soundtrack from "We Bought a Zoo"
Great soundtrack, and great film... as I loved the concepts and ideas portrayed for zoos, in this movie...

This wild game park, we went to is not a zoo.

[ :note: NOTE: Thank you, in advance, for any :+fav:'s I may receive for this image. :thanks: :aww: :rose: I am honoured and grateful that anyone would think well enough to :+fav: it. So thank you from the bottom of my heart  . I understand if you don't have time to comment, but thank you for any kind comments, too. :aww:
It's important to know this NOW, as I may NOT be able to do individual thank-you's for :+fav:'s, or in case I cannot respond to each comment, either. Thanks for understanding. :thanks:
And, if you just came to view, I appreciate that, too.

I actually have a cat that is part bob-cat. There was a family of domestic cats that bred with bobcats in an area near my sister's home and we adopted one of the strays. This cat is an orange tabby, but has the most amazing spots! It's crazy to look at. But he is one of the sweetest cats we've ever owned. Anyhow, lovely picture. <3

That is so awesome! I had a truly exciting experience babysitting two baby mountain lions at the Los Angeles Zoo when I volunteered in my senior year of high school. They were only 3 months old and were already the size of a full grown house cat! Oh, and they had a skunk in the same enclosure that I was able to pet as well. They are very docile creatures.

Thank you! :aww:
And thank you for sharing your experience, too. That's really awesome that you got to do that with the baby mountain lions.

Here at this wild life game park, we also were petting skunks as well.
:D

They were NorthWestern white skunks, so different looking.

Great stuff!

haha I know but she looks sooo cute :XD: Here in Germany its no more possible in the zoos they start to keep them more and more as wild animals so as small contact as possible even with the personnel. Which I think is dangerous, they are Zoo animals, the better those are used to humans and the tamer they are the better. When we still had animal planet (which, unfortunately isn't no more in the program with our digital channels)I could see Zoos where there was a build a brigde and when the Giraffes liked they came and you could pet them

I know, she is really too cute to resist!
She was super soft and plush there at the back of her neck! :aww:

I sort of understand why they do that, on the one hand-
which is in order to preserve their "wildness"

however, if you are going to "keep" them in any type of animal facility, it is good to know how to best try to interact with them, in order to hope for the safest conditions.

This particular animal facility, supposedly is not considered a zoo, because in most of the areas that you are walking around in, many types of animals are also walking right along side of you!

Of course, none of these are lions and the more "dangerous ones" which, the adults were actually kept in enclosures of some type.

However, at this "game park" it was meant that we were able to walk with and interact with as many animals as possible that would be of the least danger, and the babies of the most dangerous, were there for human interaction and education.

It was really very different than any type of actual zoo, I'd ever been to, though I hadn't been to any actual zoo, in many years.

YOu know, that's interesting... recently "they" took away our "Animal Planet" as well!

I think this is the better way as people learn to love the animals much more, and being loved helps the animals probably compensate for being caged.
I absolutely hate it there so many awesome shows like crochunter... even if he is dead *cries* but I would love to see Bindi on TV, or this Insect man or the one brown haired lad.. who does animal shows too, or the show on the human society or those tatooed guys who help the animals...
