Once upon a time, I was totally against Valentine's Day almost completely. I didn't like how it seemed to make some people feel left out, just because they didn't have a significant other.

I didn't seem to feel one way or another, around Valentine's Day, regardless of whatever my personal situation, I just did NOT like how some people would feel sad! It would seem to be because of just how much Valentines Day was geared toward Romantic Love and Couples...

For me, this didn't matter, but it would definitely bother some people, and I have NEVER liked things that made anyone feel excluded.

Well, NOWadays, I am more about balance in as many areas of my life as I can manage, and certain holidays, including Valentine's Day is one of them. For me, I think it is okay to have a day to remind us about LOVE, in GENERAL, about ALL LOVE, ALL the different types of LOVE, friend love, family love, love for a pet, love for the Earth, love for anything, and everything, and any single person, or everyone!

We need to remember that LOVE is so important EVERY day of the YEAR! It is okay to have a day to celebrate it! It is okay to have this day to use as a reminder to CELEBRATE LOVE throughout the year, and to just love, and share and express yourself on random days, anything from simple "I love you" statements when you FEEL the feeling coming on [cause life's short, you know!]

to... acts of love, doing things out of love for people, your pets, your family, your friends, something to help improve the PLANET, and you know what??? How about a little something nice for your own self a little once in a while? Treat your self. There's nothing wrong with throwing a little of that love your own way.

So, for me, I've tried not to let the art of "Snail Mail" aka "ye old time Letter Writing" die out... I was a great pen pal as a child and through my early twenties... then there was a few years when... NOTHING! oops... that modern life, ya know? I know... But I've tried to resurrect it again... , it's still quite a conscious effort, but I do it, I try to make a little time for it, it's not always easy, but it's fun!

And it's LOVE!
