Dedicated to my sweet friend Andrea for all her kindness to me here on dA!
I'm very happy since I met her,
and I know that many of my friends love animals, and many of those have and LOVE CATS, and even some of those have BLACK CATS, and we LOVE our BLACK CATS of course, and Andrea has TWO of her own, named Michiflú and Ojitos, They are precious, of course!
My black cat here, Philippe, is so smooth and sleek, he is almost blue. He was our last cat we took in from where we lived in the middle of CA. before we moved to here, on the Coast of OR.
I adopted him from the animal facility where I was volunteering previously to the one where I volunteer NOW.
He was there for SIX months, with no one ever even asking to see him just for any interest. I took him just before Halloween, because people are strange about black cats around Halloween, and I didn't want that to be the reason he got adopted, suddenly.
We were already the best of friends, because we got to know each other for so very long. He is the most affectionate of cats, I've ever known to people, other cats, and dogs.
Here, he is deep in thought, reflecting on life! You can see the light, and even part of the roof reflecting in his eyes... there is something on the roof that he sees from time to time. Likely, a BIRD.
A Feature of Andreas wonderful work:
Dear Andrea, Thank you for being here on dA. It's so great having you here! Philippe sends his regards to Michiflú and Ojitos. Keep up your lovely work! Your Friend, Tea

[ NOTE: Thank you, in advance, for any 's I may receive for this image. I am honoured and grateful that anyone would think well enough to it. So thank you from the bottom of my heart . I understand if you don't have time to comment, but thank you for any kind comments, too. It's important to know this NOW, as I may NOT be able to do individual thank-you's for 's, or in case I cannot respond to each comment, either. Thanks for understanding. And, if you just came to view, I appreciate that, too. ]
Andrea is an amazing photographer, that puts so much of herself in her work and I've admired her for the 7 months I've been on dA. This is a beautiful dedication Tea, and I just love Philippe what a gorgeous looking blueish/blackish coat he has! I cannot believe he was in the facility for six months and no one even looked at him...that makes me sad indeed! BUT on the up side, fate has its ways of bringing together those that are destined to be with us...and what a beautiful match you both make together!!
I was wondering what he might be looking at, that has him riveted to the spot...and you must be right, it is usually a bird
Thanks for you kind comment on my sweet kind black cat.
No, my close friends are associated with the humane society that I currently volunteer for, and with the animal facilities I've volunteered with in the past, and all other closer friends both "in real life" and here on dA are deep animal lovers and appear quite educated with animals and know that black cats are NOT bad luck at all.
This is such a sad superstition though which still causes A LOT of problems for black cats, and they are ALWAYS the last ones to be adopted in humane societies, statistically speaking, and one thing we are always trying to do is inform and educate people regarding black cats to continue to improve their chances.
Black cats are awesome and they are generally among the most affectionate!
