Description

I am the guard
of the yard,
I keep it quiet,
And far from a riot,
I guard day and night,
It's not such a fright,
I keep it a peaceful
sound and sight.

The Graveyard shots actually come last in the Columbia, California group/project, which I've been in the process of uploading, and the oldest [or near-to] Graveyard in California, is in Columbia. [But if I stay in order, I'll miss my opportunity to enter this piece!] :)

Near the very beginning of June, 2008, we went on a day trip to Columbia, California.

I've been here many, many times since I was a child. It was often a place, my family would take anyone who would visit us, as something to do/see while here.
:eyes:

It is quite fascinating, in many ways, really. The first obvious way, to most people, is its very replete history, due to its rich beginnings in The Gold Rush, set right in the middle of The Mother Lode.

Columbia is now both still a town, as well as a State Park. It really is so much fun to visit, for the historic value, and see how well things are still preserved back in time. Other things have been well restored to give that old time feel.

I also personally, just love the NATURE, surrounding the area. The trees are one very special thing! The whole experience really makes me sense quite a down-to-Earth feeling, a time when people worked so closely to/with the Earth. :earth::heart:

I treasure that feeling, whenever I can experience it. Visiting Columbia, California, is always one of those times. It is a special place for me, in many ways, also holding many memories over the many years. :) [showing my age? naaah. ;) ]

If you'd like more actual information on this place, here is its official site here:

THIS trip was a bit different.
There was a special type of film planned, and I was asked to take photos, for some to be included [spliced in, or however used].

Of course I said "Yes." I LOVE photo trips/ photo projects,
SO MUCH!

So, the next big grouping of photos happen to be my "artistic view" of Columbia, California, from the first week of June of 08. :D

If you see any/all of them, thank so much in advance for
looking! :rose:
