EDIT: Read Updated Info. about "The Shelter Project" HERE: [link]
This was one of MANY of the kittens in the Kitten Play Room at the county shelter I volunteer for. There are 4 Play Rooms, one they had converted to Kittens-only.
There are 4 "suites" in the back, one of which is all kittens, there, too. Every type of area, except playrooms, have cages.
I only use my camera, about once a month, because there's not much time. Also, I rarely spend time with the kittens at all. It's the adult domestic animals that TRULY need the most attention as they have been there the longest, and in theory and usually in practice, are less likely to get a home nearly as fast as the kittens. A couple of our cats have actually been there over a year.
The ANNOUNCEMENT of THE SECOND PART OF "THE SHELTER PROJECT" is HERE: [link] regarding the Greeting Cards.
The uploaded image HERE has been purchased as a greeting card as part of a variety package of Greeting Cards by *JocelyneR one of the many instrumental people who has supported the Shelter Project here on dA.
Also this image here has been purchased as a print, but through dA, by ~em32 who has also helped to support the Shelter Project here on dA.
EDIT: This image has been purchased many times by now by several people in conjunction with "The Shelter Project"...
The following people with dA Accounts have been instrumental in a variety of approaches and means- a few of them in a couple of multiple ways- in their extra special support of The Shelter Project:
[NOTE: I just wanted to say, in advance, how especially grateful for anyone's I may receive for this image. I am honoured that you would enjoy or think well enough of my work here, to it. So I thank you profusely, and from the bottom of my heart . And because I do realize time constraints all too well, I understand, if you are unable to also leave a comment. However, whichever you may do, [or even both! ] I genuinely appreciate it beyond measure. I need you to know this now, in case I'm not capable of doing individual thank-you's for 's, which I've not been capable, or in case I cannot respond to each comment, either. Thanks for understanding. And even if you just came to view! I am also very HAPPY for this! ]
All I can say is, gods bless you and your shelter for doing such a wonderfully kind thing! Beautiful work of a beautiful heart. And beautiful animals! I just rescued an adult "problem child" from S.A.F.E. Team, a shelter that saves animals from SPCA's "death row," where she's been for close to a year (and who knows for how long at the SPCA prior to that). She is a menace and a total trouble - and my sweetest little joy! I only wish more people knew how much happiness and joy can a cat bring into their lives! I am now drawing some pieces to donate to the silent auction fundraiser for the from which I adopted my kitty. Since I'm not a photographer, I would really love it if someone was kind enough to let me use their pictures as reference for my drawings. This kitten looks VERY much like mine. May I request your permission to draw from your images? I solemnly promise that any proceeds IN THEIR ENTIRETY will go to help the SAFE Team's animals.
It's been featured in my shelter pets special: [link]
