Malori, the one on top looking right at the camera, my full-bred Beagle will be 13, on October 11, 2009. We got her as a puppy to keep Canela company. But people were always Canela's favourite. And Canela was always Malori's favourite.
Can't you tell by the photo?
Malori has never known her life without Canela.
This photo was taken a couple weeks ago.
Canela was my first ever pet as an adult on my own. She was found in less than good condition roaming the streets at approx. one year old.
In the photo she was very very ill, and going fast. The reason her tongue is like that, is cause she didn't have bottom teeth to keep it in anymore.
Canela's health has been pretty poor for just over a year, but we've been trying desperately to improve it with the vet's help and especially since the very beginning of Spring when it turned for the worse.
It's been a long difficult Summer, finally in the last couple weeks, none of us could stand it any longer as things took another turn...
Saturday, Sept. 5, '09 we made a most extraordinarily difficult decision... but in our utter despair and depression, we know she is not in pain and suffering anymore.
It's just we sorely miss her, and will for so long.
I've never had a loyal companion as long as 13.5 years before.
She was 14 years and 4 months old.
Canela Bella, May 26th, 1995 - Sept 5th 2009.
