Happy 15th Birthday Malori ! [she's eaten cake before when no one was looking for just a second, so... it's okay if i can't find a biscuit emote. ]
She turned 15 exactly on October 11th! So that's like... 105 doggie years, right?
I know she doesn't look the best, but I can't imagine what I would look like at 105 years old.
This photo was actually taken two months ago when we went to Harris Beach, and the eye that is NOT good in this photo is better, and NOW it's the other eye that is now infected. Of course both eyes have cateracts anyway...
But her biggest problem since Summer of 2010 is her diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure. We have read that most dogs usually don't live much past 6 months after this diagnosis, but it's been 15 months...
She's on three medications for it.
The most current issue is forgetting to let us know she has to go out to go the bathroom and this has been cause for a variety of problems. We've tried a number of different things. We've settled on a diaper system, which so far is the best thing, but it doesn't work all the time.
She still LOVES to eat though, and likes [very] short walks, wags her tail to see us, and therefore we don't seem to be at that particular juncture to make that one horrible decision... even though life has been rough.
Malori has been with me over a third of my life, and that's a lot considering I'm getting to be quite an older adult. I got her as a young adult to keep Canela, my first dog [stray] [who was my first pet as an adult] company, since I worked so much away from the house back then.
Canela passed on Sept. 5th, 2009, at 14 years 4 months.
These dogs had/have been with me through the very toughest years of my life. They've been there through it all... it's amazing when I think about it.
Last year at 14: Visiting Harris Beach last year:
We love you, Malori, and we will forever...

[ NOTE: Thank you, in advance, for any 's I may receive for this image. I am honoured and grateful that anyone would think well enough to it. So thank you from the bottom of my heart . I understand if you don't have time to comment, but thank you for any kind comments, too. It's important to know this NOW, as I may NOT be able to do individual thank-you's for 's, or in case I cannot respond to each comment, either. Thanks for understanding. And, if you just came to view, I appreciate that, too. ]
I look into her eyes and see quiet contentment and trusting interest. She's a lucky and lovely dog, Tea!
Happy Birthday, Malori.
I think the newest in counting dog years is fifteen for first year and 4 to 5 every year after. So she is 80 or 85 or so. Still pretty good! If you're interested, HERE is a link
awesome! she is beautiful, she looks like she has a great personality. I can realate to what you are saying because I have had my cat since I was 14 and I feel like we are growing up together. I hope I have him a long time too
Awwww! This made me cry!! They take over such a huge part of our lives and hearts, don't they?! She's such a tough gal! Reminds me of my Susie and how she had so many health problems, but, just kept right on going.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MALORI! I hope you have a fantastic day, my dear!!
