Daisy, Loyal Family Member

Dedicated to Sandy for all she does, and wants to do, and for having a really big heart, and being friends with me for this long, already!

Finally, it's about time, to share another photo of Daisy our doggie!

I don't have enough... and she is fairly photogenic, just a tad bit goofy.
Nah, really though, if there is anything we DO know about her at this point, it's that she is pure bred sweetheart!

If anyone remembers her story, she was stolen by a jogger around December of 2011, after she'd jog by the home where she was being kept outside on a one-foot rope, AND pregnant, and witnessed her being beaten by a man in a baseball cap...

The 3rd time, she planned to take her... she got caught, and the man argued, but only briefly before saying: "Fine take the useless F-ing dog."

She brought her to the humane society, and in January of 2012 she had her puppies there.

They were okay, but because Daisy had also been so malnourished, she did not have the milk to feed them. So they were taken away and she became depressed.

But the puppies survived, and were all adopted soon.. [though two were brought back a year later... they have since been re-adopted].

Daisy spent 8 months at the humane society deathly afraid of men, and therefore virtually unadoptable. The very few male volunteers were afraid to work with her, though she was driven by fear and not aggression- it is hard to tell the difference when you do not know the dog.

We fell in love with her right away.
Scott was the only male who could and would work with her, and to this day they are best friends. We had to take her home.

It is ONE YEAR that we have had her... she's had to go to special schools and we've given her special training and care, and believe me, she's come a loooong way! She doesn't bark or growl at men on walks or on car rides, at all. Of course if they come up to the house, she does. But she likes to have a job, and she loves to protect her family, including her cat clan!

Daisy rocks!!!
