Coast Guard Christmas by TeaPhotography Coast Guard Christmas by TeaPhotography
Many of the boats in the harbor down below from where we live,
decorated their boats for the Holidays!

This seemed to happen mostly last year, as no one has done it this year, at least not yet!

I'm glad I took the photos that I did, from last year, then, because it was first time I'd ever seen such a thing in real life!

Of all of them, the dry-docked one that is placed in a special location in honour of our Coast Guard,
was my favourite one!

This year, it's in the boat yard, having some kind of work done on it! So that's why, this one, wasn't decorated this year.. .

Anyway, I thought this was beautiful, and usually it sits in this very spot year-round, and there is a nice plaque with some educational information, nearby. :aww:

Sometimes, the Coast Guard is not taken quite as seriously as some other military branches, but it certainly is not any light duty by any means!!

The U.S. Military consists of five active-duty Services and their respective Guard and Reserve units. All branches are equal parts of the United States Uniformed Services, headed by the president as commander in chief. The Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force fall under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense (DoD). The Coast Guard reports to the Department of Homeland Security during peacetime and to the DoD (by way of the Navy) during wartime. - [link]

We have a Coast Guard Base in our hometown, and I'd like to wish all who serve with the Coast Guard everywhere, as well as their families, Happy Holidays- and to send out my thanks for the wide variety of amazing work that they do, of which I cannot possibly begin to imagine...

[ :note: NOTE: Thank you, in advance, for any :+fav:'s I may receive for this image. :thanks: :aww: :rose: I am honoured and grateful that anyone would think well enough to :+fav: it. So thank you from the bottom of my heart  . I understand if you don't have time to comment, but thank you for any kind comments, too. :aww:
It's important to know this NOW, as I may NOT be able to do individual thank-you's for :+fav:'s, or in case I cannot respond to each comment, either. Thanks for understanding. :thanks:
And, if you just came to view, I appreciate that, too.
