so cute. How many cats do you have? Mine are a long drive away on my parent's farm.

:aww: Thanks and for the :+fav:'s too.

Welllll, I have 6 cats and now 1 dog. :hmm:

My other dog- first pet of mine ever of 14 years passed on, on Sept. 5th. It was very very heart-breaking. Anyway, at that time it was 5 cats and 2 dogs.

JUST got the 6th cat. It really seemed like there was no one to nurse her back to health. The foster parent didn't even realize she was NOT better, when she told me she was getting better.

I was volunteering at Pet Smart, as I do in the Adoptions, and I noticed her sneezing like crazy, very tiny white kitten, and I thought, "Ooooh no" Respiratory condition! Very contagious... I didn't want the other cats to get it. So I called the foster mom, to come pick her up.

I was so concerned in fact, I kept calling every other day, to see how she was doing, and she said each time that she was improving.

I even went to go to the foster place, which I'd never been to before- [I volunteer for a different group, but our cats are all put together at Pet Smart]

and there she was kept out in a cold garage, and I had a bad feeling.

I told her then, I would take her as in adopt.

She was SO NOT BETTER. :(

There I was with a sick kitten afraid she would get my other five sick, and I took her to my vet, spent all this money on meds to get her well...

she is a lot better but still on meds.

Wow, what a long story.

Sorry about that.

So yours live on your parents' farm?? Wow! That's kind of cool. Do they have many?

That is a sad story with a happy ending at least. It's good that you volunteer and look out for cats.

I'm not sure how many cats we have. They are half-wild. We keep a warm barn for them and feed them, but there is a cat door on it so they do whatever they want. I don't get home very often but when I do, they all hang out by the house cause I pet them and give them treats. If I had to guess, I would say we have 8 or 10. My parents used to run a dairy farm, so we had plenty of milk for them. I think at the most, we had about 35 cats running around. We also have dogs, but they get all the attention from my family, so when I was very young, I decided that I would focus my energy on the cats. They are cooler anyways.
