Malori, the full Beagle, will be 12 on October 11th of 2008. She's been in my life nearly as long as Canela Bella. We got her so that she could be a companion for Canela. But people remained Canela's favourite, and Canela has always been Malori's favourite.
Malori has seemed to lose her bay since we've gotten cats at the doggies' more advanced years. Malori used to bay, in such a lovely way, whenever there were cats on the fences of the yards wherever we lived...
Both dogs, through much patience and tolerance, have allowed me to achieve a childhood dream of having kitties in the house, too, something my parents said was impossible to mix with dogs, as a way to prevent me from having a cat for a pet.
Well it's been one year now, that I've had cat/s in my own life, and thanks to the benevolence of my older lady doggies, I have a lovely home environment of two of the sweetest dogs who've been with me for about a third of my life, and two wonderful newish additions in cats, and it's been one very interesting and happy year, in this kind of way, which I've needed. I have been so pleased at truly how well they've all gotten along. PEACE!
^.^
[***NOTE: The other thing interesting about Malori, is that she is the only of the four pets that was NOT a rescue animal, BUT when I was little, I always wanted to know what Beagles were like, therefore that's why the fullbred in the bunch. However, she WAS/is indeed the runt of her litter, and as a result, was extremely extra tiny, AND with a 90 degree bend in the crook of the bone on end of her tail! I had many choices left, because Malori's mom birthed quite a litter, but when I found out about the crookie tail, I couldn't leave her there to be passed over and over, by discriminatory Beagle buyers!]

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.

I have a Beagle, too.
And aren't Beagles so lovely and sweet, despite the fact that they are obsessed with food.
