Dedicated to my dear friend Philippe for his BIRTHDAY on July 23rd!
Philippe has been a great friend to me for a very long time here on dA!
He has been supportive of me and all my work in general, but also supportive in every way possible with regard to my work with animals.
My cat Philippe, was named after Philippe, because he was technically the first person [both on and off dA], to make purchases on behalf of The Shelter Project.
My cat Philippe was in the county animal shelter where I previously was volunteering in California, before I moved to where I am now in Oregon and volunteering at a donation-only funded, private humane society.
My cat Philippe was never once looked at, not even out of interest for the full 7 months he had spent there, so I adopted him just before Halloween, [coming up on two years ago]- reason for that time, being, that it's sadly common enough in that area, to adopt black cats at Halloween time, "just because" or to be harmful to them.
Philippe is the most affectionate and wonderful cat! He'll be 3 in November.
A feature of Philippe's [my friend, Philippe!] fabulous work:
Dear Philippe, I appreciate your kind friendship, and I wish you the very best for your birthday, and in the coming year with all of your efforts! Your Friend, Tea

[ NOTE: Thank you, in advance, for any 's I may receive for this image. I am honoured and grateful that anyone would think well enough to it. So thank you from the bottom of my heart . I understand if you don't have time to comment, but thank you for any kind comments, too. It's important to know this NOW, as I may NOT be able to do individual thank-you's for 's, or in case I cannot respond to each comment, either. Thanks for understanding. And, if you just came to view, I appreciate that, too. ]
He's beautiful and so is this photo. It's so sad how black cats are so often over looked and mistreated just because of their coat color. I've had my black cat for almost 14 years. He was the last kitten on adoption day at the shelter. No one wanted him, so we took him and got him well (he was really sick) and he's still here! Black cats are awesome. I'm so happy you adopted yours and that he has such a good home now ^^.
I could have written this whole comment myself! I completely hate the bad rep they have as well, and my most affectionate cat is Philippe! I hear people say that their black cats are the most affectionate as well.
