A Question of Time

Description

I was talking to Samcatt not too long ago, about how this has been the longest that I've ever kept up the same dA I.D.-
Tea and Mochi by TeaPhotography
well, actually it was taken April 2014, edited a month later, and THEN finally submitted September 2014- so I think it just feels longer. I usually change them every 6 months, and technically it's only been nine months.

Anyway, she was just saying, "What about any photo of you doing something you love to do?"

But, I was thinking about how I simply have taken less and less photos of myself over time. I'm not too sure what that means, except that maybe I'm just not as interested in myself as a subject matter. :XD:

But, regarding Samcatt, I remembered an old photo that I had used as an ID, FIVE years ago, that I really liked- it held a lot of meaning for me at the time, and quite frankly, I've thought about it A LOT since then, because it was actually made into a small series, and ALSO because the meaning or meaningS continue to become timeless for me.

This is sort of difficult to explain... but it's in how I was feeling at the time, the literal place where I was, the circumstances and mood, fit a LOT with many things that continue to come up, or just BE a part of me and my life.

Anyway, also, in the previous photo, I had used, I had hoped that no one would notice that I was half immodest, but my dear friend Samcatt did notice!

In this version of the series, it is a bit more obvious, and I will just say, it's about a immodest as I think I'd ever be for a photo that I would share in this way, and I would have never shared it five years ago!
Heh. There are things that DO change. :XD:

Another thing that has physically changed is that my hair has already grown almost back down to my hips again! It does grow fast. :aww:

Also, I had "Writer's Block" for a couple of years, which is baaad, for someone who has used it primarily for therapy most of her life! - until my birthday this past October when I was inspired by a gorgeous new hardback journal...  and thankfully I was able to begin writing again.

To go with this image, and new I.D., here is an excerpt from a poem I wrote fairly recently:

Seen Her Share of Devils
6-11-2015

...Lost, lonely birdie
Too young to realize
She's far from alone
And those like her, hear her cries

Those like her, INDEED!
We've seen our share of devils
In supposed angelic-type places
We've come out an awful mess, tainted disheveled

We're rushed to move on
"This too shall pass."
But each and every time
Something else is right on its ass

Never enough time to heal
From the previous ordeal
To work through what we feel
It continues to compound,
    into one gigantic raw deal
...

Beautifully done, Tea, and quite suitably modest.
