for their FANTASTIC and very hard work they do for the Group! It is truly an awesome Team, and it is most rewarding to work with them!

They are each friends, too, and have been so supportive in various ways, as well, and this very much appreciated and I want to wish them all very well throughout the Holidays and into The New Year...


This is Jikan, [who has a long time] but whose first name means "Time" in Japanese, because it was apparently "Time for me to have a cat."
HE is the CAT who STARTED it ALL.

This is an effort to do 2 things:

This will round out a much nicer collection of Holiday Pet images to be available for Holiday Animal Greeting Cards for NEXT Year...
as I had NO idea I would get what orders I DID get, this year, and I felt unprepared with the images I had, both in the area of holiday animals and regular holiday images to be honest!
[even if it was nice, that the images I had were wanted anyway... ]

And in a GREATER effort to help support The South Coast Humane Society through The Shelter Project by having a nicer variety in general.

Jikan picked me, July of 2007, when he was about a 7 month old stray kitten. He chose to live on my doorstep, though I wasn't feeding him and didn't know too much about cats, except that other people's cats always seemed to like me all my life.

Eventually, as it was Summer, we got him and my then TWO female dogs used to each other through the security door, and one day we just brought him in, and the rest is a jam-packed action-adventure history, having to do with everything about cats, for certain!

I love him immensely as he is my first cat, and we do have a very unique bond as we understand each other in many ways. He is a deep, complex, intelligent, moody boy, and loves to be near me always, but not right on me like Herbie: [link], Philippe: [link] and even our brand newest boy Jack, who does have a dA photo, too, but not his Holiday one, yet!

Jikan had a lot of health problems at first, mostly stomach, but later developed urinary tract crystals, which must be watched and maintained now the rest of his life. He has to be on special food.

Jikan's best friend is still Sha-Sha, the 2nd cat we got, who is orange and one-eyed, and those who have followed me the longest on dA, know Sha-Sha and her photos, and she'll have her Holiday Photo debut in my next round of uploads.
